I take this opportunity to congratulate NIST on its accomplishment to produce Global topper candidate in the IGC 2017-18. I wish all success in the future endeavours of NIST.
I’m glad to introduce myself as Harsha Vardhan Reddy Kandula, a Civil and Environmental engineering graduate with an additional qualification of UK based certification in NEBOSH IGC with Distinction (231/300).
Counselling
I carried out a lot of research before deciding to join with NIST, I did enquiries over the Internet to find the best institute for Safety training. Moreover, I was worried as I was planning to take this course during the final semester of graduation, so I was worried if it would intervene with my final semester studies. Anyways, I have to thank Ms. Sree Latha and Ms. Bharathi for their eye opening counselling which dispelled all the doubts within me to pursue the IGC course.
I was very skeptical towards taking NEBOSH IGC course, as I heard from several sources that it is a very difficult exam to crack. However, after consulting with the counselling team at NIST I came to know about the contents of the IGC course, different levels of courses in NEBOSH, the job opportunities in India and Abroad, as well as the scope of HSE Courses in the future. Such information helped me to develop a keen interest in the HSE field. I was impressed with the way Ms. Sree latha believes that an institute is about serving the students rather than treating it from a business perspective. These ideals made me to join at NIST Vizag.
Training
The essential part of the training is the support and motivation offered by the trainers. NIST trainers are promising and help each and every student. The trainer in Our Batch has spent enormous amount of energy by providing quality training, providing real time examples that helps us to understand topics in a better way. Class room sessions are highly interesting as they are in the form of group discussions and sessions to clarify doubts. Further, the mind-mapping techniques were highly useful in order to quickly grasp the concepts and go through the entire subject in a short span of time. The mock tests helped us to prepare for the exam, for example how to answer a certain question. It helped us to gain confidence in our writing abilities that led us to face the examination without any fear.
Facilities
NIST offers sophisticated Facilities that include spacious class rooms, projector based lectures, good quality food and refreshments that are rarely found in any other institute. Also, the course material is upto the mark covering the entire syllabus in a well-structured manner along with interesting Case Studies.
Job Assistance
Ms. Sreelatha plays a great role in helping students to get placed after the tenure of the program. Though, you may be a fresher, they will help you connect with certain contacts who can help you to fetch a Job. I currently work with NIST for the OHSAS project with the guidance and support of the NIST Vizag team.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire NIST team to help me clear the NEBOSH IGC examination and score with Distinction. I appreciate the family oriented approach which is evident in their operations. Such valuable guidance, support and efforts is what I believe has helped NIST to produce the Global topper award for NEBOSH IGC for the year 2017-18.
I plan to continue my studies in the safety program and this time I wish to put my 100 percent efforts to make NIST a Global Topper in NEBOSH IDIP. I expect the same support and guidance from the NIST team to successfully complete the NEBOSH IDIP course.
